Alessandro Gualtieri: Special Guest at Pitti Fragranze 20

Alessandro Gualtieri at Stazione Leopolda presents IL MURO ALCHEMICO: an experiment that invites the public to perform a cathartic gesture.

Born in Italy, NOSE Alessandro Gualtieri began his career with studies in perfumery techniques and after years of creations for major fashion houses such as Fendi, Versace, Valentino, Romeo Gigli and Halmut Lang, he launched his personal line NASOMATTO with 11 extracts, 11 ways of being, 11 states of mind or rather 11 obsessions. The choice of the name alone suggests a transgressive line, without limits and without rules where the desire to transmit one's thoughts and to travel with the imagination reigns supreme.

In 2014 he launched his second project ORTO PARISI: the line of perfumes that cultivates the soul where, behind the brazen and non-conformist imprint, class, tradition and excellence are hidden. “In Orto Parisi the body is experienced as a garden whose smells are the true mirror of the soul”. What distinguishes the great Gualtieri nose is that there is no specific olfactory family nor feminine or masculine but unisex perfumes and the choice of perfume reflects the emotion that the person intends to convey... yes, because after all his creations are created to arouse emotions, provoke, amaze and reflect the dark and dark soul of every personality.

Gualtieri, known in the industry as The Nose, author of Nasomatto and Orto Parisi, is the Special Guest of this edition of Pitti Fragranze, scheduled at Stazione Leopolda in Florence from 16 to 18 September 2022. For Pitti Fragranze he designed IL MURO ALCHEMICO: an interactive physical experience at Stazione Leopolda, which people can experience one at a time, in a short period of time.

“I'm trying to build my alchemical machine – says Alessandro Gualtieri – to produce my version of the famous “substance”: the goal is to collect the liquids transmuted by the psyche of human beings.”.

For the first time the alchemist invites others to contribute to his experiment. Through the alchemical process, gold is born from the rawest matter: the fulcrum of the experience that Alessandro Gualtieri will propose to Fragrances it is sublimating frustrations through a real act of purification.

“This act is built on a cathartic methodology. I wanted to create a space to release our repressed emotions, condensing bad memories so they can finally evaporate and free us."

For me the wall is the place where I can observe how the process of alchemical transformation is evolving: what begins as a strong gesture of liberation ends up in a wall of vanished and blurred ideas that no longer have any body, any presence. The problems are no longer relevant.
